Identifying areas for development for executives, high potential staff and work teams is an essential process in creating motivation for change and defining a development project that will produce results. To achieve this, we use a variety of tools including development assessments, assessment centres, 360 degree feedback, cultural profiles and personality preferences.
An individual’s potential is made up of the talents and skills they have at their disposal but have not yet had the possibility of expressing to the full at work. Bringing them to light is important both for the individual and the company, since people find most satisfaction when they do something they do well and have a facility for. Then they give their best, work more willingly with better results, to everyone’s benefit.
Assessing individual potential is important on three levels. In the first place it helps people to have a better understanding of themselves – improving awareness of their own aptitudes, capacities and behaviour – so as to recognise their strengths and focus on the areas where they can improve. Moreover, it creates motivation for change, since people with clear, well-defined goals will face future development activities with greater commitment and focus, obtaining better results. Lastly, it allows a company to assess with precision the requirements and needs for setting up an effective development activity which will produce the desired results. According to the context, the role of the participants, and the objectives, we use different tools to maximise the benefits of our intervention.
